Set amid palm trees at the edge of a white sand beach flecked with gold, stands a gracious Mexican villa with a broad shaded veranda, offering an unobstructed view of the warm Pacific Ocean only steps away.

Casa Aguila (Eagle House) is private and peaceful, within walking distance of the center of the charming village of Sayulita. This is the perfect vacation home for a luxurious but uncomplicated beachside holiday.

The surf break south of the villa has the best and most consistent waves along Mexico's Pacific Gold Coast. It is becoming internationally known as an excellent spot for the experienced surfer as well as an ideal place for those eager to learn.

The property has very broad beach frontage right on the sand, is situated a good distance from its neighbors on either side and is fortunate to have a large grove of mature coco palms and manicured lawn as the neighbors property behind it. The sandy ocean bottom right in front of the house has a gradual slope which makes it a safer place to swim than practically anywhere along the entire beach, except, right in front of the town restaurants, a short walk away.

The villa consists of a main house with 2 master bedrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen, plus a separate "casita", or guest house, consisting of 2 bedrooms. In the main house, Master Bedroom #1 features a king-sized bed with a carved stone headboard, an exceptionally spacious bathroom and a fabulous view of the ocean including the surf break.

Master Bedroom #2 is even bigger than Master #1. It has its own private entrance, private bathroom and also has the option of being connected by a common door to Master Bedroom #1. It is spacious enough to easily accommodate a king sized bed and two other single beds. It can alternately be provided with 4 single beds. It is light and airy and like all the bedrooms, it has a fabulous view of the ocean.

The detached Guest House, sitting immediately beside the main house, consists of a charming Hideaway Bedroom downstairs and a very large Artists Studio/Bedroom upstairs.

The Hideaway Bedroom has its own separate entrance, and it normally comes with two single beds which can be configured as a king if requested. It also has a toilet and a hot water sink “ensuite” as well as its own air conditioner. It can come with it's own small refrigerator, toaster and coffee maker. Its window provides an enchanting view of the ocean, shaded by mature tropical trees. Because of its situation, this room is ideal for teenagers or others seeking privacy.

The upstairs bedroom was originally designed as an artists’ studio by the owners. It is accessed by an outdoor stairway covered with hand painted Mexican tiles. This spacious, light filled, room comes furnished with a king sized bed to provide a very romantic and very private nest with a sweeping view of the beach and jungle below. The room is ample enough that, as an alternative, it can easily accommodate up to 4 single beds if arrangements are made in advance. Someday, this art studio/bedroom may contain its own bathroom, but currently, the fortunate persons to enjoy this special room will go down the outside stairs to use the huge bathroom with shower that is reserved exclusively for them in the main house. This bathroom is located beside the living room and it is the largest bathroom in the villa. The Artists Studio has unmatched views of the ocean and jungle as it is the only bedroom which has some windows facing in all 4 directions.

Graced by massive carved stone columns, the broad shady veranda which extends across the entire front of the main house, offers comfortable cushioned lounge chairs for putting your feet up as well as traditional Mexican leather covered dining tables and chairs for dining alfresco or relaxing with a cool drink while gazing at the ocean or reading a good book. There is also a hammock serenely strung between two tall palm trees in a side yard facing the ocean. There are hot showers in all three main bathrooms plus the small courtyard that serves as an entrance to the casita, has an outside hot shower with a view of the ocean, to make it convenient to wash off the beach sand before coming inside.

Large natural wood doors fold back to open up the heart of the villa to the spectacular view and to welcome in the gentle fresh sea breeze. High ceilings, throughout the main house, help keep the rooms cooler, while enhancing its traditional elegant aura. Numerous carved details add to the homes' warmth and charm. The interior dining room is accented by a wall of marble and a tall, antique glass fronted, mahogany bookcase. The grand living room features original artwork and another large bookcase. Ours is almost certainly the only private home in Sayulita, available for rental, which has a piano in the living room for the enjoyment of its guests.
